Amazon to produce more James Bond video games

Amazon confirmed it will produce more James Bond video games after IO Interactive’s 007 First Light, with sequels overseen by MGM and potentially Amazon Game Studios.
In a recent interview, Amazon confirmed it will produce more James Bond video games following IO Interactive’s 007 First Light. The company said sequels will be handled by MGM and could involve Amazon Game Studios, but it did not name specific development teams.
007 First Light was developed by IO Interactive. The game presents a reimagined origin story of a younger James Bond and was shown during PlayStation’s State of Play in a 30-minute segment that included a playthrough of Bond’s first mission, on-foot sequences and high-speed car chases.
Developers described 007 First Light as a narrative-led single-player action-adventure rather than a live-service title. They have indicated the campaign runs roughly 20 hours. The game is scheduled to appear on Nintendo Switch.
The interview included the line:
Sequels will be done by MGM and, theoretically, by Amazon Game Studios.
The company did not provide details on how production duties will be split or whether IO Interactive will return to develop subsequent entries.
Amazon has not announced a release timeline, named additional developers beyond MGM, or disclosed budgets for future Bond games. 007 First Light is the first major release tied to Amazon’s rights to produce James Bond video games.
