Minecraft coming to Nintendo Switch 2 with Super Duper graphics - ps5.news

Microsoft and Nintendo will release a Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Minecraft later this year; Mojang confirmed the Super Duper Graphics Pack will be included but no launch date was given.

Microsoft and Nintendo announced a dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Minecraft planned for later this year. Mojang confirmed the Super Duper Graphics Pack will be included in the Switch 2 build. No firm launch date has been provided.

The Switch 2 edition will support cross-platform play, enabling players on the new console to join multiplayer sessions with users on other systems. Microsoft indicated the feature aligns with ongoing efforts to maintain consistent multiplayer across platforms.

The Super Duper Graphics Pack adds higher-resolution textures along with enhanced lighting and rendering effects. Mojang described the pack as changing the game’s visual presentation without altering core gameplay.

An online retailer has listed Minecraft: Story Mode — The Complete Adventure for the current Switch with a tentative June 27 date; the game’s publisher has not confirmed that timing. That listing applies to the existing Switch hardware, not the Switch 2 edition.

Minecraft remains available on the original Nintendo Switch and on other platforms. Microsoft, Nintendo and Mojang stated they will share further details about the Switch 2 release and availability later in the year.

Previously, we reported that Minecraft Dungeons 2 will arrive on Switch Sept. 29, 2026.
