Capcom’s Pragmata Sells 2 Million Copies in 16 Days
Capcom’s sci-fi action game Pragmata sold more than 2 million copies in its first 16 days on sale, and the company shared commemorative art and a short social video.
Capcom reported that Pragmata sold more than 2 million copies in the first 16 days following its mid-April release on PlayStation 5. The company posted commemorative artwork and a short video on its social channels alongside the sales figure.
The announcement did not include a regional sales breakdown, revenue details or sales targets. Capcom also did not disclose plans for downloadable content or releases on additional platforms in the update.
An aggregator gave the game an initial aggregate score of 87, with 94% of reviewers recommending the title. Individual review scores ranged from the high eights to perfect marks.
Pragmata follows spacefarer Hugh and an android named Diana as they confront a hostile artificial intelligence on a lunar research station. Reviewers highlighted the game’s storytelling, the relationship between the two central characters and a combat system that requires players to hack enemies in real time during action sequences.
The game’s official description reads: ‘On a seemingly lifeless research station located on the moon, spacefarer Hugh and android Diana find themselves targeted by the hostile AI governing the station. The two must work together to defeat the AI and return to Earth.’
Capcom positioned Pragmata as an action-adventure release in mid-April and provided no further commercial projections in the sales announcement.
