Under Night In-Birth II adds DLC fighter Zohar, major patch

Arc System Works and French Bread will add Zohar as paid DLC in Summer 2026 and release a major update changing balance, ranked play, frame data display and mission replay.
Arc System Works and French Bread announced that Zohar will join the roster of Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes as a paid downloadable character in Summer 2026. The companies also outlined a major update that will change game balance, ranked systems, frame data display and mission replay features.
Zohar is presented as a founding member of the Bankikai, an organization she formed with characters named Ogre and Strix. The announcement did not include detailed information about her fighting style, abilities or moveset; the developers said those details will be released closer to the DLC launch.
The update will modify balance across the cast. The developers plan to reassess combo damage and gauge gain to limit power creep. Certain system mechanics will be revised, including the properties of Steer Ender and Throw Escape. The behavior of some high-impact moves will also be altered.
Ranked play will receive two main changes. Rating Points will now fluctuate in addition to the existing RIP metric, and the publisher intends to add a dedicated ranking system to improve separation and tracking for competitive players. The announcement frames these changes as intended to refine competitive integrity and matchmaking clarity.
Training and analysis tools will be expanded. The frame data display will show opponent information and gap frames within sequences, and frame data will be viewable in Replay Mode so players can study matches directly. Mission Mode will gain a feature that lets players review previous attempts. Online matches will continue to use rollback netcode.
Further patch notes and a full breakdown of Zohar’s character are expected in future updates from the developers. Separately, French Bread, in collaboration with Aniplex, has announced Melty Blood: Twi Lumina for Nintendo Switch with an early 2027 release window. Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes remains in active post-launch support as the teams prepare the DLC and system update.
