FF7 Remake Part 3 director completed over 40 playthroughs

Naoki Hamaguchi, director of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, says he has completed more than 40 full playthroughs of the still-in-development game.
Naoki Hamaguchi, director of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 at Square Enix, has completed more than 40 full playthroughs of the title while development continues. He described those runs as complete playthroughs that include side content.
Hamaguchi leads development for the final installment in the multi-part remake and told reporters his team is preparing for a public reveal and focusing on gameplay and balance as the project advances.
He described how the project has dominated his daily routine and said he rarely sets aside time to relax. To clear his head, he sometimes gets off a train a few stops early and walks home.
In his remarks he added, “I can’t wait for as many people as possible to experience the game for themselves, and myself and the team are working hard to ensure we can create an unforgettable gameplay experience.”
Square Enix has confirmed the title remains in active development and that it uses an internal official name for Part 3. The company plans a public reveal but has not announced a release date or a final platform list.
Some observers have called for proof of the playtime, such as a public profile record; others viewed the claim as an example of hands-on leadership during late-stage development. Repeating full playthroughs is a common testing method to check story flow, combat balance and side content and to identify issues before a public showing.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 is intended as the concluding entry in Square Enix’s remake project and is expected to complete the reimagining of the 1997 game’s narrative.
