THQ Nordic will release Gothic III Classic for Nintendo Switch 2 on Nov. 24, 2026. The publisher lists the price at €29.99 or the regional equivalent and says the port includes Community Patch 1.75 and additional performance work for Nintendo’s new hardware.
Gothic III is a 2006 open-world action role-playing game in which players control a nameless hero on the mainland of Myrtana, a kingdom under attack by orcs amid political unrest. The game features a class-free character progression system, a large free-roaming world with few boundaries, hundreds of non-player characters with distinct behavior routines and full voice dialogue, and a storyline that branches based on player choices.
Combat includes melee strikes, whirlwind attacks and ranged options. The original release offers more than 50 monster and animal types, more than 50 spells and over 100 weapons. The title also contains a main story with branching consequences and an array of side quests designed to extend playtime.
The Switch 2 build integrates Community Patch 1.75 along with additional gameplay tweaks and an optimized build aimed at improving performance on the console. The port features a custom gamepad user interface and controls adapted for the platform. THQ Nordic positions the release as part of its ongoing effort to update and re-release entries in the Gothic series for current consoles.
THQ Nordic previously released Gothic Classic and Gothic II Classic Complete on the original Switch. The publisher has announced other Switch 2 releases from its catalog, including Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed and entries in the Destroy All Humans! series.
Gothic III originally launched in 2006 and has been supported by community-maintained patches that address bugs and rebalance gameplay. The Switch 2 release packages a community update with the official port, and the game will be available on Nintendo’s system beginning Nov. 24, 2026.
