Smalland: Survive the Wilds will release on Nintendo Switch 2 on May 14, 2026, offering open-world survival with crafting, creature taming and up to 10-player cooperative play.

Maximum Entertainment announced that Smalland: Survive the Wilds will release on Nintendo Switch 2 on May 14, 2026. The publisher confirmed the release alongside a new trailer and said the Switch 2 edition includes post-launch updates already released on other platforms.

Players take the role of the Smallfolk, a tiny civilization surviving in a large wilderness where common plants and animals become hazards and landmarks. Core mechanics include scavenging and refining resources, crafting tools and armor, and constructing shelters and bases.

Taming and riding wildlife is part of gameplay, with creatures listed by the publisher ranging from geckos to scorpions. Armor sets change player appearance and grant resistances or abilities. The world emphasizes vertical exploration and distinct biomes, featuring very large trees and deep cracks in roads.

Base options include encampments on the ground or in the canopy and a movable Great Tree base that travels between worlds. Hidden non-player characters are placed throughout the environment to provide pieces of ancient lore and guidance as players expand settlements and face environmental threats.

Multiplayer supports solo and cooperative sessions. The Switch 2 edition allows one local host plus up to nine additional players for a total of ten participants. The announcement described the Switch 2 release as a full-featured version that incorporates updates already available on other platforms.

Smalland has been compared to other miniature-scale survival titles for its small-protagonist premise and to larger open-world survival games for its resource management and base-building systems.
