Xbox mockup suggests uniform dashboard across devices

A mockup in a replay of Jason Ronald’s GDC 2026 talk shows a “Consistent Experience” Xbox dashboard across Series X/S, PC and a handheld labeled ROG Xbox Ally.

A mockup labeled “Consistent Experience” appears in a YouTube rebroadcast of Jason Ronald’s GDC 2026 presentation. The slide displays an updated Xbox dashboard across Series X, Series S, Windows PC and a handheld device labeled ROG Xbox Ally.

The console images show small layout changes: the profile icon moves to the top right, the five central icons are rearranged, and a standalone “browse the store” button is replaced by an advertisement for the ROG Xbox Ally. The PC mockup adds new sections and rectangular game tiles similar to recent changes to the Microsoft Store on Windows.

The handheld image uses essentially the same dashboard layout shown for the consoles. The presentation did not specify whether that represents a plan to port the console UI to handheld hardware or is intended to highlight features such as remote play.

During the segment, Jason Ronald explained:

As a player, if I choose to move between screens, I shouldn’t have to learn new user interfaces just based on the screen that I’m on. That doesn’t mean you’re going to have to exact same user experience, because we think about things like screen size and input modalities, but this is really designed around a consistent, familiar, distinctly Xbox experience wherever you choose to play.

Microsoft was asked for comment and declined to provide one. The image is a mockup rather than a confirmed user interface. Microsoft has previously shown concept images during presentations that did not match final products. The broadcast included no timeline or roadmap for release of these designs.

The presentation was part of GDC 2026 coverage on next-generation console experience and cross-device continuity.
