World of Tanks: Heat launches free on PS5 May 26 with 10v10

World of Tanks: Heat arrives free on PS5 May 26. The 10v10 post–World War II tank game also launches on Xbox Series X|S and PC with cross-play and cross-progression.
Wargaming announced that World of Tanks: Heat will release as a free-to-play title on PlayStation 5 on May 26. The game will also be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC and supports cross-play and cross-progression across platforms.
The game is set in an alternate-history postwar timeline and runs on a new proprietary engine developed for the project. Wargaming says the engine was built to leverage modern hardware and to shape gameplay and visuals for larger-scale encounters.
Matches are 10-versus-10 tactical shooter encounters. Players select Agents who fill one of three roles-Defender, Assault, or Marksman-and each Agent commands a roster of two vehicles. Vehicles can be modified with modules and equipment to suit frontline engagements or long-range strikes.
At launch the title will include fifteen vehicles and eight maps that span a range of biomes and visual styles. The maps are designed to allow multiple approaches to combat and to support four player-versus-player modes: Hardpoint, Control, Kill Confirmed, and Conquest.
On PS5 the game will be available through the PlayStation Store. On Xbox Series X|S and PC it will be distributed through standard digital channels. Cross-play will let players on different systems compete together, and cross-progression will carry progress and unlocks between platforms.
Wargaming describes the game’s focus as tactical coordination, vehicle customization and role-based team play. The dual-vehicle roster for each Agent allows players to switch vehicles during matches to respond to team needs or map conditions.
As we previously reported, the developer of Kusan: City of Wolves confirmed the July 30 PS5 launch ahead of the release.
