Kusan: City of Wolves launches on PS5 July 30

Kusan: City of Wolves, a top-down action shooter likened to Hotline Miami, will release on PS5 July 30 with graphic-novel cutscenes, player abilities and boss-specific combat.
CIRCLEfromDOT will release Kusan: City of Wolves for PlayStation 5 on July 30. The game is a top-down action shooter that combines fast close-quarters combat with graphic-novel cutscenes.
The developer confirmed the July 30 PS5 launch ahead of the release. Gameplay places players in top-down encounters where positioning and split-second reactions are central to survival.
A trailer released by the studio highlights the title’s comic-style story panels and on-screen action. Cutscenes use a graphic-novel format and transition directly into gameplay segments, reducing long breaks for exposition.
Characters have access to a range of abilities and techniques in addition to firearms and melee options. The developer describes encounters with standard enemies and larger boss foes as requiring different approaches, with many boss fights demanding specific strategies.
Combat centers on quick reactions and movement. The studio has presented early builds to players in recent years as it refined the mix of retro-inspired top-down shooting and modern mechanics.
CIRCLEfromDOT is a South Korean independent studio. The game includes graphic violence and fast, brutal combat. The developer has not announced additional platforms or release plans beyond the PS5 launch.
Earlier this month, Kasedo Games and Bulwark Studios announced Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II will release on May 21, 2026 for PlayStation 5.
