First 13 Minutes of 007 First Light Show Stealth; Switch 2 Delayed
IO Interactive released the first 13 minutes of James Bond game 007 First Light, showing stealth and combat; the full release arrives May 27 for most platforms while the Switch 2 version is delayed.
IO Interactive published a 13-minute preview of 007 First Light that combines quiet infiltration and direct combat. The studio confirmed the title will release on other platforms on May 27, while the Nintendo Switch 2 edition has been postponed to a later date.
The clip focuses on an opening mission that alternates between stealthy takedowns and firefights. It provides an early look at enemy placement, mission pacing and how the game introduces mechanics to players through tutorial-style objectives. The footage covers early-game encounters rather than later stages of the campaign.
IO Interactive opened pre-orders for the game ahead of the late-May launch for most systems. Platform notes on the developer’s store and pre-order pages specify the May 27 availability for non-Switch 2 platforms. The company previously referenced a March 2026 window in earlier updates, but the current schedule ties the main-platform launch to late May.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version will be sold as a Game-Key Card. That format means the physical card will contain a download code for the full game rather than holding the complete game data on the cartridge. The developer’s product listing identifies the Switch 2 edition as a Game-Key Card and indicates that a separate launch date will follow for that platform.
007 First Light is IO Interactive’s next James Bond project; the studio is known for developing the Hitman series. Pre-orders remain open for platforms scheduled to receive the game on May 27. IO Interactive said it will provide a release date for the Switch 2 edition at a later time.
