007 First Light Goes Gold Ahead of May 27 PS5 Release

IO Interactive completed the 1.0 build of 007 First Light and sent the master for disc production ahead of the May 27 PlayStation 5 release.

IO Interactive announced that 007 First Light has gone gold. The studio completed the game’s 1.0 build and submitted the master copy for physical disc manufacturing ahead of the May 27 PlayStation 5 release.

Going gold means the final product build is finished and ready for pressing. With two weeks until launch, the developer will focus on certification and preparing a day-one update to address any issues found during final testing.

The PS5 release will include the main single-player campaign, which IO Interactive estimates will run about 20 hours. The studio has stated it will provide additional content and updates after release to continue supporting the title.

Physical disc production will proceed now that the master is finalized, and digital storefronts will prepare for the scheduled availability. Platform holders will complete final certification steps and distribute any day-one patches to ensure the game runs at launch.

IO Interactive, the developer behind the Hitman series, set the PlayStation 5 release date for May 27 and will move through manufacturing, certification and post-launch support in the coming weeks.
