007 First Light Launches May 27 With PS5 Pro PSSR 2.0

IO Interactive says 007 First Light will launch May 27 with PS5 Pro support for upgraded PSSR 2.0, offering cleaner visuals, reduced shimmering and sharper character detail.

IO Interactive confirmed that 007 First Light will launch May 27 with PS5 Pro support for upgraded PSSR 2.0. The studio said the visual enhancements will be included in the game’s launch build.

The studio described improvements to outdoor foliage, close-up character work in cinematic moments, and more stable imagery in motion-heavy sequences. IO Interactive listed reduced shimmering and flicker, and sharper detail on hair and clothing fabrics as part of the upgrade.

On the PlayStation Blog, technical director Henrik Schlichter wrote: “Upgraded PSSR gave us a meaningful jump in image quality across the board – cleaner, more stable, and noticeably sharper on the kind of fine detail that’s hardest to get right.”

Principal render engineer Jon Rocatis added that the team integrated the upgraded PSSR in about a day and were satisfied with the immediate results: “We integrated upgraded PSSR in about a day and were essentially happy with what we saw straight away.”

Rocatis noted the system required no per-scene tuning and did not need special-case adjustments, with the enhancement holding up across the entire game. IO Interactive confirmed PS5 Pro players will receive these upgrades from day one.
