007 First Light on PS5: First playthrough about 20 hours

IO Interactive’s gameplay director confirmed in London that 007 First Light on PS5 runs about 20 hours for a first playthrough as James Bond. TacSim and live-service updates can extend play.

IO Interactive’s gameplay director confirmed at a London hands-on event that 007 First Light on PS5 runs about 20 hours for a first playthrough as James Bond. The estimate covers a single run through the main campaign based on the version shown to press.

The studio noted that actual playtime will vary with player approach. A strict stealth strategy is likely to extend mission length, while more direct, aggressive tactics typically shorten it. The developer highlighted systems designed to encourage multiple approaches to the same encounters.

TacSim mode allows players to replay individual levels to test different tactics and objectives within the same maps, giving players a way to increase total playtime by revisiting content.

IO Interactive has committed to ongoing live-service support for First Light, with plans for updates that add content and modify the game experience after launch. In its previous World of Assassination releases, the studio added new objectives and missions over time and introduced guest characters.

The campaign includes missions in multiple countries, with confirmed locations including Slovakia, Iceland, Malta and England. With release scheduled in the coming weeks, the studio has been running hands-on sessions for press to demonstrate systems and pacing ahead of launch.

The 20-hour estimate is presented as a baseline for a first full playthrough; final runtime will depend on individual playstyle, use of TacSim replays and engagement with post-launch updates.
