IO Interactive reported that 007 First Light sold 1.5 million copies in its first 24 hours after launch. The studio announced the figure on social media and thanked players for their support.

In a social post, IO Interactive wrote: “1.5 million copies sold! Thank you for showing up to the launch of 007 First Light, for your overwhelming enthusiasm and for sharing your experience with the game.”

The update is the developer’s first public sales figure and was posted within a day of the game’s release.

Earlier industry commentary compared the game’s opening performance to recent mid-tier franchise releases rather than blockbuster launches. IO Interactive did not provide revenue figures, regional sales breakdowns or platform-specific numbers in its announcement.

Early reviews and player impressions have focused on the game’s characterization of a young James Bond, its globetrotting story and its sandbox missions. Reviews also noted notable moments in the game’s shootouts.
