Ten indie games are scheduled to release on Xbox between May 5 and May 28, 2026. Notable entries include Echo Generation 2, Mixtape, Call of the Elder Gods, Luna Abyss and Necrophosis. Several of the titles will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch.
The slate opens May 5 with Motorslice, an action-adventure that pairs parkour-style movement through a collapsed megastructure with large boss encounters and scavenging for construction equipment. Wax Heads, also due May 5, is a narrative simulation set in a struggling record store where players interact with customers, browse a handcrafted music collection and manage workplace scenes.
On May 7 Mixtape, available on Game Pass, offers a short, memory-driven story about three friends on their last night together, set to a curated soundtrack. WILL: Follow The Light, arriving the same day, is a realistic first-person voyage across northern seas in which the protagonist searches for a way home.
Call of the Elder Gods releases May 12 on Game Pass as a sequel to the 2020 title Call of the Sea; it is a narrative puzzle adventure with Lovecraft-influenced themes that sends players to remote locations. May 21 brings Luna Abyss to Game Pass, a single-player action-adventure that combines story-driven platforming with fast combat and bullet-hell elements while following the character Fawkes. Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks also arrives May 21 as a combat racing game featuring buggies, tanks and helicopters with online and bot-driven matches.
Yerba Buena releases May 26 and places players in a surreal 1970s San Francisco where a device called the Oscillator lets the protagonist capture and reapply physical traits of objects to solve environmental puzzles. Echo Generation 2 arrives May 27 on Game Pass as a sci-fi deckbuilding RPG in which players build a crew and construct card decks to confront a growing cosmic threat. Necrophosis: Full Consciousness closes the month on May 28 as a first-person horror adventure focused on atmospheric environments and grotesque visual design.
Developers and publishers vary across the lineup; Game Pass availability is confirmed for Mixtape, Call of the Elder Gods, Luna Abyss and Echo Generation 2. Other indie titles scheduled for May include Coffee Talk Tokyo, Outbound and Beastro. The releases represent a range of mechanics and genres, including narrative simulation, action-platforming, deckbuilding RPG systems, racing and first-person horror.
Players can expect a steady flow of indie releases through mid- and late-May. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have access to the Game Pass-listed titles on their release dates without separate purchases.
