88 Heroes Returns to PS Store After Publisher Change

2017 action platformer 88 Heroes has returned to the PlayStation Store after being delisted in 2024; the listing now shows Reef Entertainment as publisher instead of Rising Star Games.

88 Heroes, a 2017 action platformer for PS4 and PS Vita, has returned to the PlayStation Store after being removed in 2024. The PlayStation Store entry lists Reef Entertainment as the publisher and prices the game at $29.99. A PlayStation Network user flagged the relisting.

The game was originally released in 2017. Physical PS Vita copies were produced by East Asia Soft. PlayStation disc and some other digital storefront listings continue to show Rising Star Games as the publisher.

In 88 Heroes players climb a skyscraper to stop an antagonist called Dr. H8. The game’s overview reads: “It’s 8:08 am on 8th August 1988, and the evil Dr. H8 has brought the world to the brink of total annihilation. His demands are simple: pay $88 octillion within 88 minutes, or Dr. H8’s 88 thermo-nuclear warheads will wipe out the Earth!”

No public statement was issued by either publisher or the platform explaining the 2024 delisting. Publisher credits currently differ between the PlayStation Store and other versions and physical releases.

With the PlayStation Store listing restored, the title is now available to buy on that platform. Other platforms and physical editions continue to reflect their existing publisher information.
