90% of Players Pick Third-Person for Leon in Requiem
Capcom data shows about 90% of players chose third-person for Leon on first playthrough; Grace sections split 60% first-person and 40% third-person.
Capcom’s internal telemetry indicates about 90% of players selected the third-person camera for Leon Kennedy during their first playthrough of Resident Evil: Requiem. Grace’s sections were divided: roughly 60% remained in the default first-person view while about 40% switched to third-person.
The figures are dated one month after the game’s release and reflect initial playthrough choices rather than longer-term play habits.
Director Koshi Nakanishi and producer Masato Kumazawa presented the data and commented, “the majority of players didn’t deviate from the preset perspectives and stuck with them.” Capcom reported a similar pattern in data collected from show-floor demos before launch.
Capcom described Leon’s sections as action-oriented with a default third-person camera and Grace’s sections as horror-focused with a default first-person camera. Players were able to change camera perspective at any time, but most kept the defaults during their first session.
The developer and publisher used internal telemetry and demo feedback to monitor how players responded to the game’s alternating character design and camera options in the weeks following release.
