A Plague Tale: Innocence Gets 80% Off on PlayStation Store

A Plague Tale: Innocence is available for $7.99 on the PlayStation Store through Nov. 5. The game is usually priced at $39.99, which makes the discount 80%. It is available to users on both PS4 and PS5. The price is scheduled to return to $39.99 after the promotion ends.

Asobo Studio developed the game, and Focus Entertainment published it. The PS4 version launched in 2019, followed by a PS5 version in 2021. The PS5 release added 4K resolution, a 60-frame-per-second performance mode, improved visuals and faster loading times.

The game follows Amicia and her younger brother, Hugo, in France in 1348 during the Black Death. The siblings flee the Inquisition while passing through villages occupied by swarms of deadly rats. Players use fire and light to keep the rats away and combine stealth with combat to avoid or distract enemy soldiers.

Other orphans later join Amicia and Hugo. The group searches for a way to survive and investigates the source of the danger. The game received award nominations at the Golden Joystick Awards and The Game Awards. It has an average rating of 4.37 out of 5 on the PlayStation Store.

A sequel, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, is scheduled for release. A television adaptation of the franchise is also in development.
