Absolum adds cross-play on PS, Xbox, Switch and PC
Side-scrolling brawler Absolum added full cross-play, letting PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Steam players join local and online two-player co-op.
Guard Crush Games released an update today that adds full cross-play support to Absolum, allowing players on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam) to join local and online two-player cooperative sessions.
Absolum is a side-scrolling beat-’em-up that supports up to two players in both local and online co-op while remaining fully playable solo. The co-op design includes cooperative combo attacks and coordinated moves between partners.
The update was rolled out across all platforms through each platform’s usual update channels: Steam via the client and console stores through system updates. Patch notes list cross-play among the headline items and include platform-wide matchmaking fixes and stability improvements.
Absolum launched last year on PS5 and PS4 and has received multiple post-launch patches. In February, Guard Crush Games issued patch 1.1, which added a new game mode and additional features. Today’s update extends cross-play to current- and last-gen PlayStation hardware, Xbox Series X and Series S, Nintendo Switch and Steam on PC.
With cross-play enabled, players on different hardware can join the same online matches or pair up for local co-op. Players who prefer to play solo can still complete the full campaign.
