Absolum Adds Cross-Play for Switch, PlayStation, Xbox and Steam
Absolum now supports cross-play across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox and Steam, allowing players to form cross-platform co-op parties in the beat ’em up.
Developer Guard Crush and publisher Dotemu have added full cross-play to Absolum, enabling multiplayer between Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox and Steam. The update activates cross-platform matchmaking and online play for the game’s cooperative beat ’em up modes.
The feature went live following several months of backend development to connect consoles and PC. The team said cross-play had been on the game’s roadmap since launch and required additional polishing and testing to ensure stable sessions across platforms. The change arrives seven months after Absolum’s release.
In a post on the game’s Steam page, the developers wrote: “It’s taken us a little while to get here, and we know you’ve been fighting alongside us as we prepared in the background. As a co-op multiplayer Beat ‘em Up, there’s a lot which goes into the background, and with Xbox Rebels joining the fight recently, our master code-crafters at Guard Crush have brought it all together, to bring you all together.”
Since launch, Absolum has received a free content update and the team has announced a planned physical edition for Switch 2. The developer has also said an animated series tied to the game remains in development.
Players can form parties and take on in-game challenges across the supported platforms. Platform-specific instructions and further details are available on Absolum’s official channels and the game’s Steam page, where the developer outlined the cross-platform rollout and thanked the community for feedback during testing.
