Ace Combat 8 trailer showcases PS5 cockpit realism

Bandai Namco released a new trailer for Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve that highlights cockpit views and PS5 graphics. The game launches Oct. 2, 2026 and is available for preorder.

Bandai Namco released a trailer titled “The Art of Aircraft” for Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve on PlayStation 5. The game is scheduled for release on Oct. 2, 2026.

The trailer opens with exterior and cockpit views of an F-22A Raptor, then shows an airborne shot of icy mountains and a runway from a Gripen E. The footage moves through cockpit perspectives from several single-seat fighters flying between clouds and over wide terrain.

Other jets shown include the MiG-21bis Fishbed, Rafale M, Su-35S Flanker-E, F-35C Lightning II and Su-47 Berkut, each given brief exterior and interior camera time.

Project Aces developed the game and Bandai Namco is publishing it. Bandai Namco describes Ace Combat 8 as an aerial action game in which players take the role of elite pilots to engage in dogfights, eliminate threats and progress through a campaign.

The game will offer multiple play modes. One delivers fast, arcade-style combat in which players deploy aircraft weapons to win engagements. Another focuses on first-person interactions with fellow pilots, letting players learn each pilot’s background and see command responsibilities and relationships during operations.

Preorders are available through Bandai Namco’s website in three editions. The standard edition includes the base game. The deluxe edition adds three days of early digital access, a premium ace pass plus voucher and a set of cosmetic items. The Joker Flight Pack adds the deluxe content plus a collectible titled “Aces at War: A History 2029” and two LP vinyl records with a slipmat and slipcover. Preorders include a digital copy of Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War and access to a playable F-14A aircraft.

Ace Combat 8 continues the long-running Ace Combat franchise. The Oct. 2, 2026 release date places the title among major console releases for the year, and preorders are live on the publisher’s official channels.
