Insider: Activision developing Simpsons: Hit and Run remake

Jordan Middler, an industry insider, hinted Activision is developing a remake of The Simpsons: Hit and Run. He made the remark while closing a recent podcast and used a sign-off that referenced the game’s title.

Middler suggested Activision is looking at remaking older licensed games and indicated one highly requested project is already underway. He said the publisher plans to create new versions of past licensed titles and added, ‘the one that everyone is absolutely desperate for is happening.’

Activision has not confirmed the claim. No information about platforms, developers, release timing or the project’s scope has been released.

The original The Simpsons: Hit and Run was released in 2003 and developed by Radical Entertainment. The game combined open-world driving with mission-based levels and featured characters and locations from the television series.
