Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Collection Coming to PS5

Commodore and Antstream will release the Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Collection on PS5, PC and Xbox on Sept. 24, 2026, restoring six early Alien Breed titles with updated controls.

Commodore and developer Antstream, in partnership with Team17, will release the Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Collection for PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox on Sept. 24, 2026. The collection restores six early Alien Breed titles and updates them for modern systems.

The package includes Alien Breed; Alien Breed Special Edition ’92; Alien Breed II: The Horror Continues (OCS and AGA versions); Alien Breed: Tower Assault (Amiga 1200 and CD32 versions); Alien Breed 3D (including Demo 1 and 2); and Alien Breed 3D II: The Killing Grounds.

Technical updates across the collection include an upgraded hardware interface, full twin-stick control support for both 2D and 3D games, and mouse-and-keyboard support for the 3D titles. Players can switch between the original 4:3 aspect ratio and a modern 16:9 format, and the games will run at higher frame rates than the originals.

New online modes included in the release are Horde Mode and Rush Mode, available for solo players or squads. The collection also contains The Vault, a digital archive with concept art and materials related to the original releases and the series’ development history.

Alien Breed originated in 1991, developed by Team17 and first released on platforms such as the Amiga. The six original titles in this anniversary set were not released on PlayStation platforms at the time. The franchise’s first PlayStation releases arrived later, with Alien Breed: Evolution appearing on PlayStation 3 as Alien Breed: Impact in 2010, followed by Alien Breed 2: Assault on the PlayStation Network in 2010 and Alien Breed 3: Descent in 2011.

The Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Collection will be available on PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox on Sept. 24, 2026.
