Aliens Fireteam Elite 2: Four-Player Crossplay in Summer 2026

Cold Iron and Daybreak Games announced Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, due Summer 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The sequel expands squads to four players and supports full crossplay.

Cold Iron and Daybreak Games announced Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, the follow-up to the 2021 third-person cooperative shooter. The title is scheduled for release in Summer 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and will support crossplay between PC and consoles at launch.

The sequel increases squad size from three to four players. A new customizable class called the Specialist will let players combine abilities from other classes to create varied loadouts. At launch the game will include a Horde mode with dedicated maps where teams face waves of enemies to earn progressively better rewards.

The reveal trailer places action on planet LV-558 and opens with a transmission from Dr. Lily Pierce. Footage shows gunfire, explosions, new gadgets and close-quarters encounters with Xenomorphs, while providing only brief glimpses of player movement and combat. The trailer confirms the Summer 2026 window but does not give an exact release date.

Development is a collaboration between Cold Iron and Daybreak Games. The teams confirmed crossplay support for PC and consoles; a release for Nintendo hardware has not been announced. The original Aliens: Fireteam Elite launched in 2021 as a standalone sequel connected to the first Alien film trilogy and was set on planet LV-895.

The 2021 game received multiple post-launch updates, including new maps, classes and cosmetic skins, and was later ported to the Nintendo Switch. The sequel was revealed ahead of its official announcement last year. Developers have not disclosed campaign length, complete multiplayer feature details or plans for post-launch content.
