Arle from Puyo Puyo Joins Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

Arle from the Puyo Puyo series joins Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds in a free update on May 27. The character and a timed festival are available on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

The developer scheduled a Puyo Puyo Festival to run from May 28 at 8:00 PM ET through May 31 at 7:59 PM ET to mark Arle’s addition. The update note reads: “Arle is dropping into Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds in a free update on May 27th! The Puyo Puyo Festival will run from May 28th 8:00 PM ET through May 31st 7:59 PM ET.”

Owners of the Switch version can purchase a paid upgrade to the Switch 2 edition, which includes higher resolution and improved performance. The Arle character is provided at no extra cost and will be added to players’ rosters when they install the May 27 update.

Since the game’s launch on both Switch models last year, it has received regular character updates. Recent free additions included Red and Captain Majima. Guest characters have come from the extended Sonic cast, Super Monkey Ball and Persona.

Paid DLC packs for the title have included franchises such as Minecraft, SpongeBob and Mega Man. The Puyo Puyo Festival will be active only during the stated window and will end on May 31 at 7:59 PM ET.
