Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced debuts on PS5

Ubisoft released Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced for PS5 on the PlayStation Store today. The studio developed and published the enhanced remake of the 2013 action-adventure, updating visuals, refining combat and adding quality-of-life improvements. The game returns players to Edward Kenway, a pirate captain involved in the long-running conflict between the Assassins and the Templars, and retains the series’ mix of stealth, melee fighting and naval combat.

Players command the Jackdaw to board and sink enemy ships, lead assaults on settlements, blend into crowds and switch between silent takedowns and open brawls using swords, pistols and the Hidden Blade. The Standard Edition is priced at $59.99. The Deluxe Edition costs $69.99 and includes the full game plus a Master Assassin Character Pack with an Edward costume, sword, pistol and a trinket that grants in-game perks, and a Master Assassin Naval Pack with a sail set, ship’s pet, crew attire, wheel, figurehead and hull trim.

Trailer material highlights those gameplay elements: “Strike fear in your foes as you board and sink enemy vessels as Edward Kenway, captain of the Jackdaw,” and notes the ability to alternate between stealth and direct combat while sailing and raiding. Early reviews average 84 based on 83 critic scores from an aggregate site. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is available now on the PlayStation Store for PS5.
