Assassin’s Creed Shadows PS5 gets final free update

Ubisoft will release the final free update (1.1.11) for Assassin’s Creed Shadows on PS5 at 10 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT on June 16, 2026, adding a story quest, Domains, an Animus Rift and fixes.

Ubisoft will publish update 1.1.11 for Assassin’s Creed Shadows on PS5 at 10 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT on June 16, 2026. The patch weighs a little over 10 GB on PS5 and is billed as the final free content drop for the game’s 2025 release.

The update adds a free story quest called “Black Tides,” which completes the main arc for characters Naoe and Yasuke and resolves the post‑launch missions “A Critical Encounter” and “A Puzzlement.” Two new crossover Projects, Riptides and Undertow, become available after players complete Anomalies and progress through the associated rewards in the same way earlier Projects were activated.

For end‑game players, the patch introduces Domains, a new Animus activity that challenges build crafting across five gameplay simulations and ten challenge levels. Domains require a character to reach level 30 to unlock. The update also adds a new Animus Rift named Horizon, which becomes available after players finish the two previous Rift encounters and provides additional story context about the Guide via the Eagle’s findings.

The update modifies access to HUB features in the main menu so the System menu is reachable only through the Shadows’ Memory page. Travel between Japan and Awaji will now preserve pins and world markers.

Patch 1.1.11 includes multiple gameplay and balance changes. Damage for shurikens fired with the Bank Shot and Triple Threat mastery upgrades has been increased. Abilities that destroy enemy armor now work at half effectiveness against bosses. Enemy fall damage calculations were adjusted so enemies take fall damage from shorter heights. Damage dealt by enemy poison kunai and explosive grenades has been reduced. The seasonal limit for Corrupted Castles has been set to up to six per season. The update fixes a bug that could leave Naoe’s Katana Sheath stuck and addresses progression problems in Anomaly and other quests.

User interface and gear systems received several fixes and adjustments. Forge engraving lists were reordered and a new “Critical Category” was added. Perks and knowledge skills that showed incorrect icons or categories were corrected. Perks tied to adrenaline were reworked to scale as a percentage of an adrenaline chunk and were rebalanced to lower values. The Whisper of Gold Long Katana perk now increases ability damage to 100% (up from 50%). Teppo and Bow weapons can now receive armour damage and armour piercing engravings. The Kusarigama perk for Naoe was corrected so bleed from entanglement deals intended damage. The update prevents ranged‑specific perks from being engraved on melee weapons and vice versa, and it fixes cases where certain perks could be engraved on inappropriate items such as amulets or armor.

Other specific changes include adjusting trigger thresholds for some perks, with the Ethereal Cloth Headgear perk now activating when health falls below 15% (up from 10%), and selected armor pieces for Naoe and Yasuke converting 20% of adrenaline to health on death (up from 10%). The patch also resolves issues where perks did not reset correctly after combat ended or reset incorrectly when the player took damage.

Quest fixes labeled as spoilers were addressed. The Anomaly quest progression for “Gather Mon” was fixed. The “Way of the Blacksmith” quest had an issue corrected where Heji and the forge were removed from the hideout, preventing the quest from appearing. The “Lost and Found” quest received a fix for a sentinel being teleported out of bounds.

Ubisoft’s patch notes list further minor fixes and stability improvements across perks, inventory behavior and UI elements intended to smooth gameplay and correct reported inconsistencies.
