Atlus will withhold public updates on Persona 6 until after the release of Persona 4 Revival on February 18, 2027, P Studio director Kazuhisa Wada wrote in a press release. The company confirmed that Persona 6 is in development and said detailed information will be shared only after the remake has launched.
Wada wrote, “We are delighted to officially announce our work on the next instalment of the Persona series and look forward to sharing the incredible efforts that the entire team is putting into Persona 6 for its release after Persona 4 Revival.”
Atlus released a brief teaser for Persona 6 prior to the statement. The teaser and the game’s official description indicate the series structure will continue, following a group of high school students who balance school, relationships and extracurricular life with supernatural threats, and suggest a darker tone for the new entry. The description reads: “Navigate the rhythms of everyday school life and build friendships, pursue romance, and cultivate memories that matter. But beneath the surface of familiar streets and quiet neighborhoods lies something darker: strange rumors, unsettling urban legends, and occult incidents that only you and your closest allies can face.”
The press release said the studio will concentrate promotion and communication on Persona 4 Revival ahead of its launch. Atlus has scheduled a story- and gameplay-focused livestream before the remake’s release to show what players can expect.
Atlus did not provide a release window or further gameplay details for Persona 6 beyond confirming development will continue and that public updates will resume after Persona 4 Revival is released. Persona 5 originally released in 2017.
