Attack on Titan 3 gets winter release window and trailer

Koei Tecmo released a new gameplay trailer and confirmed that Attack on Titan 3 will launch worldwide this winter on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. The studio did not provide a specific release date.

Koei Tecmo is developing the next mainline entry in the franchise. The animation studio MAPPA will produce the game’s opening animation, and action scene animator Arifumi Imai returns to direct those sequences.

Trailer footage shows players taking the role of Scout Regiment members and reenacting key events from the anime. A feature called Exterior Scouting Missions lets players leave the walls to explore open areas, build forward bases, engage Titans in the field and expand controlled territory through consecutive operations.

Combat mechanics have been revised with new attack types and altered Titan behaviors. The gameplay includes fast aerial movement using maneuver gear and coordinated strikes aimed at Titan weak points. The presentation also showed large-scale battlefield sequences tied to the scouting missions.

The game will include a Casual Mode intended to simplify some human-versus-Titan mechanics for players new to the series. The announcement lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and Steam as launch platforms.

Koei Tecmo described the title as the culmination of the series’ storyline in game form and said it will cover many of the anime’s most recognizable events. The presentation emphasized returning staff handling core cinematic and combat elements.

Further details, including a firm release date, pricing and edition information, were not released. The new gameplay trailer is available now and Koei Tecmo said it will share additional information ahead of the winter launch window.
