Avatar Legends PS5 delayed to July 23; pre-order beta July 2–5
Avatar Legends’ PS5 launch delayed from July 2 to July 23. A cross-play beta for pre-order customers will run July 2–5.
Gameplay Group delayed the PS5 release of Avatar Legends from July 2 to July 23. To provide early access, the studio will run a cross-play beta from July 2 through July 5 for customers who pre-order. Gameplay Group wrote it needs extra time to add new content and polish the game, noting it is “taking a little extra time to cook up an exceptional Avatar adventure, including brand new content previously unplanned.” The delay applies to the PS5 release only; no new dates for other platforms were announced. The beta will support cross-play so players on different systems can play together during the test window. Access to the beta requires a pre-order and it will take place on the original release weekend. Avatar Legends is a licensed fighting game based on the Avatar property and has drawn attention from competitive fighting players ahead of launch. The publisher set a $30 price for the full game; the studio did not mention any change to that price in its announcement. The developer did not provide details on the unplanned content or the specific polish tasks it will complete before launch, nor did it publish a post-launch roadmap. Players who pre-order can use the beta to test core systems and cross-play functionality before the wider release. The July 23 PS5 date is the next confirmed milestone for the title.
