Bandai Namco remasters 2011 PSP RPG as Ruination Remastered
Bandai Namco announced Super Robot Wars Z II: Ruination Remastered, a remaster of the 2011 PSP game, during the series’ 35th anniversary. Platforms and release date were not announced.
Bandai Namco Entertainment announced Super Robot Wars Z II: Ruination Remastered during the franchise’s 35th anniversary. The company released a short teaser and provided no platform, release date or technical details.
The remaster covers Ruination, one half of the 2011 PlayStation Portable release 2nd Super Robot Wars Z, which was split into Ruination and Regeneration. Only Ruination has been confirmed for the remaster.
Super Robot Wars is a grid-based tactical role-playing series that brings mecha units and their pilots from various anime into turn-based combat. Players place units on a grid, command attacks and special moves, and upgrade machines and pilots using credits and resources earned after missions.
The series has continued with new entries. The most recent release is Super Robot Wars Y for PlayStation 5 in 2025.
Bandai Namco did not name the developer handling the remaster, nor did it share screenshots, gameplay footage, platform listings, a release window or pricing.
An official description reads: “Super Robot Wars is a grid-based tactical combat RPG that brings units and pilots from a variety of anime together to battle their mutual foes. Place your units strategically and command them to defeat your enemies. Upgrade your units and train your pilots with credits and resources you earn after every mission.”
The company did not indicate when it will release further information.
