Bandai Namco’s Synduality to End Online Services May 2027
Bandai Namco will end online services for 2025 PS5 game Synduality: Echo of Ada in May 2027; the title will move to offline-only play and paid owners will receive the offline version free.
Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer Game Studio announced that Synduality: Echo of Ada will end online services on an unspecified date in May 2027 and convert to an offline-only game. Players who purchased the title will receive the offline version at no extra charge, and some save data and purchased content will be migrated.
After the May 2027 shutdown the game will be playable only in offline mode. Bandai Namco has not confirmed whether PlayStation Plus Essential members who received Synduality as a free monthly download will retain access to the offline version.
The publisher set additional cutoff dates for live services. After October 2026 Synduality will no longer receive updates or in-game events. Microtransactions are scheduled to be disabled on December 18, and any in-game currency purchased can be spent in the game until the May 2027 service end date. The developer also noted that purchased in-game currency carries a 150-day time limit, which may cause unused currency to expire before the shutdown.
A message from developer Game Studio read: “The entire development and operations team would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the ‘Drifters’ who have raced through the harsh realities of the surface world with us, and to everyone who has forged strong bonds with their ‘Magus’ partners.” The statement accompanied the shutdown schedule and migration details.
Synduality launched on PlayStation 5 in 2025 as an action role-playing game and third-person shooter. The title received mixed reviews at release and was offered as a PlayStation Plus Essential free download in December 2025.
