Batman: Arkham Knight Added to Xbox Play Anywhere
Batman: Arkham Knight now grants console buyers a free PC copy via Xbox Play Anywhere; Reddit users found hidden handheld tags on other titles including Baldur’s Gate 3, Onimusha and Undisputed.
Microsoft added Batman: Arkham Knight to Xbox Play Anywhere this week. Players who buy the game on Xbox consoles can download the Windows edition at no extra charge through the Xbox PC app. Owners who already have the console version should find the PC copy in their Xbox PC app library, and compatible handhelds such as the ROG Xbox Ally can run the Windows edition.
Batman: Arkham Knight first launched in 2015. Its inclusion expands the program beyond mostly newer releases; Microsoft has added older titles to Xbox Play Anywhere in the past.
Users on Reddit reported hidden “handheld” metadata in the platform backend for several game pages. The listings named Baldur’s Gate 3, Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Undisputed among others. Those backend tags do not appear on storefront pages and do not by themselves confirm Play Anywhere support or PC releases.
Xbox Play Anywhere allows eligible titles purchased on Xbox consoles to be played on Windows PCs at no extra cost, with shared saves and achievements where supported. Publishers and Microsoft must enroll a game for cross-buy to apply.
Microsoft and the publishers of the games mentioned have not issued announcements confirming additional Play Anywhere additions. Players who own Batman: Arkham Knight on Xbox can check the Xbox PC app to access the free Windows version.
