Bethesda to Release Third Starfield Patch Next Week
Bethesda will release a third Starfield patch next week for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC to address multiple crashes, stability issues and gameplay bugs.
Bethesda will release a third patch for Starfield next week on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC to address multiple crash and stability issues and apply several gameplay fixes.
The update continues work begun in two earlier patches that primarily targeted persistent crashing on the PS5 version. Bethesda indicated the upcoming update will fix multiple crashes and include gameplay adjustments; a full list of changes will be published when the patch goes live.
After the second patch, Bethesda thanked players for their feedback and asked anyone still experiencing problems to contact support, writing: “Thank you to everyone who’s been playing the latest update and providing your feedback. If you’re still experiencing any crashing or other issues, we encourage you to reach out to our support team.”
Testing and player reports after the second update found crashes persisted in busy in-game areas and during activities such as outpost building and ship modification. Those reports prompted the studio to broaden the scope of the next patch beyond PlayStation and continue working on stability fixes.
Bethesda has not provided an exact release time or a complete changelog. The company said detailed patch notes will be posted when the update is available to download.
Starfield launched with platform-specific stability problems, particularly on PS5, and the developer has issued multiple follow-up updates since release.
