Black Ops 7 Season 04: Rogue Run, new maps, Ranked SR overhaul
Season 04 adds multiplayer maps Liminal and Primetime plus remastered Vertigo, launches Rogue Run Zombies, makes Ranked Play SR transparent and refreshes Warzone’s Fortune’s Keep.
Season 04 for Black Ops 7 launches with new multiplayer maps, a roguelite Zombies mode, a redesign of Ranked Play skill rating and an updated Warzone map. The update will roll out at launch and continue through a mid-season patch that adds remasters, new maps and extra Warzone modes.
Multiplayer adds two new maps at launch and a remastered classic. Liminal is a small arena whose central area changes during a live procedure, altering cover and sightlines. Primetime is a medium-sized map built around a Japanese game-show obstacle course with speed tracks, wall jump pads and a central pool with catapults. Vertigo from the Black Ops 2 era returns remastered with a Japanese setting. Mid-season content will add Zenith, a cliffside mansion, and a remaster of Launch, a rocket facility map.
New and returning multiplayer modes arrive with Season 04. Black Ops Classic recreates older Black Ops gameplay with simplified movement and limited loadouts. Blueprint Gun Game and Team Blueprint Sharpshooter rotate players through weapon blueprints. 6v6 Gunfight expands Gunfight to larger teams and removes health regeneration. Knife Fight restores melee-only Gunfight rounds. A new scorestreak called Iron Rain deploys a player-controlled high-altitude aircraft with optional Active Camo and Tactical Radar overclocks.
Ranked Play receives a transparent Skill Rating system. SR gains and losses are now visible and driven by a player’s Rank and match performance. Wins award a flat +20 SR plus a scoreboard bonus for top placements and adjustments for opponent Rank. Losses deduct -20 SR in Bronze through Diamond and larger amounts at higher tiers, for example Crimson is -30 SR per loss and losses increase at set SR thresholds up to -65 SR per loss at 20,000 SR and above. The post-match summary will itemize every SR change. Party restrictions were relaxed for Crimson players to allow up to four-player parties while Iridescent and Top 250 ranks retain tighter limits. Season-specific Ranked rewards include weapon blueprints, calling cards, camos and animated items tied to Rank milestones and win totals.
Zombies adds a new Survival map and a permanent roguelite mode. Nuked is a compact Survival map set in a corrupted neighborhood with Pack-a-Punch, Mystery Box and other classic features. Totenreich gains Directed Mode with on-screen quest guidance and a Starting Room option that confines players to the opening area. Rogue Run is a new permanent mode where players begin each run with an infinite-ammo common pistol, clear a round, then choose one of three randomized rewards before teleporting to the next arena. Rogue Run includes five playlists with unique challenges and permanent in-mode upgrades earned by completing objectives and defeating named HVTs. A mid-season round-based map called Kowakujō and a new Hellping Hound GobbleGum arrive later.
Warzone’s Fortune’s Keep returns with a refresh that adapts the island for Black Ops 7 movement and features. Several major POIs were updated and new micro-POIs added, including the Sea Science Aquatic Laboratory and Smuggler HQ. New Warzone features include the Shadowlink Contract, a mobile Black Market; an Advanced Self Revive item in Resurgence; Clash, a 52v52 large-scale mode with objectives; and a Squad Gun Game mode coming mid-season. Placement Challenges and a Resurgence Ranked Play season will provide additional seasonal rewards.
Season 04 also brings new weapons and attachments across modes. The free Battle Pass includes two base weapons, the KRS-7.62 marksman rifle and the CBRS-3 SMG, operator skins and more than 100 rewards. A BlackCell premium track offers an exclusive operator, a Mastercraft blueprint and bonus daily challenges. Weekly challenges and timed events will distribute additional weapons, attachments, the Iron Rain scorestreak and animated camos. The Endgame mode’s free-to-play period is extended through the end of Season 05. Content will continue to be added during the mid-season and Season 04 Reloaded update.
