Black Ops and Black Ops II heading to PS5 and PS4

Files on Sony’s servers and assets extracted from the PlayStation Store indicate Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010) and Call of Duty: Black Ops II (2012) are being prepared for release on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Patches for both titles were discovered on Sony’s servers and South Korean age ratings were assigned to the games several weeks ago.

Store artwork and logos pulled from PlayStation Store files point to ready-made storefront pages. The files focus on single-player campaign content rather than online multiplayer or Zombies menus and assets, suggesting the releases will be campaign-only packages.

A prior PlayStation re-release of a Call of Duty single-player campaign offered only the single-player experience on modern hardware; the current files follow a similar pattern. The two Treyarch-developed titles include standalone campaign modes that would be playable on PS4 and PS5 without the original consoles.

No information has been provided about technical enhancements such as higher resolutions, frame-rate improvements, or trophy support. Pricing, exact release dates and confirmation of included modes have not been announced by Sony or the games’ publisher.
