Blue Prince v1.7 accessibility patch coming to Switch 2
Raw Fury confirmed Blue Prince’s v1.7 accessibility update — adding Color Assist, button remapping, Motion Assist and invert-stroll — will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 soon.
Raw Fury and developer Dogubomb confirmed that Blue Prince’s version 1.7 accessibility update will be released on Nintendo Switch 2, with no firm date provided. The update first landed on PC late last month and reached Xbox, PlayStation and mobile platforms in the weeks that followed. Dogubomb posted full patch notes on Steam and indicated the 1.7.1 hotfix will be included in the Switch 2 release.
Version 1.7 introduces several accessibility features. Color Assist increases puzzle color clarity, offers color pattern displays and can label colors on inspectable objects. Key and button remapping lets players customize controls for both keyboard and controllers. Motion Assist groups cursor and reticle settings, look sensitivity, field of view, smooth look and a “Stairs Skip” option that disables the visual spiral-staircase travel effect. The invert-stroll option reverses the stroll control so players move at the faster stroll speed by default and hold the button to slow down.
The official patch notes list multiple visual and gameplay fixes. On PlayStation 5 the save file architecture was updated to reduce oversized saves. Cursor handling was smoothed for drafting and item pickup. Geometry and collider issues were fixed in areas including the Precipice and Casino. Several Powered Duct animations were restored and routing bugs that hid parts of the grounds and house from certain angles were corrected. Chamber of Mirrors animation problems that affected room duplication and terminal access were addressed.
Additional changes adjust Upgrade Disk floorplan selection to improve variety during challenge runs and reduce instances of offering upgrades for undrafted rooms. The notes also document UI and text fixes, texture rendering corrections and fixes for specific lockers and items that previously failed to respond to interaction.
A set of late-game fixes and balance tweaks is included. Gambit of the Queen now grants an additional key per trigger. An item listed as R_y_l Sc____r received design and usability changes to restore functionality and allow an extra color setting per day from the inventory. A bug that could make boat travel nonpersistent if a cutscene was skipped was fixed. Several clipping, texture and step-loss issues in a late-game area were patched and challenge-mode save loading in Bequest mode now includes redundancy checks.
The 1.7.1 hotfix corrects regressions discovered after the main rollout: Color Labeling no longer activates without the feature enabled, a controller input and glyph issue in a Blueprint-menu document was fixed, Explorer Trophy triggers were repaired so missing trophies appear in the Entrance Hall, and cursor and color-label display problems on Mac and in menu screens were resolved.
The patch notes warn that some entries reference rare rooms, items and mechanics that may contain late-game spoilers. Raw Fury and Dogubomb have not provided a release window for the Switch 2 update.
