Poll: Which Bubsy SNES Box Art Stands Out?

An online Box Art Brawl compared North American, European and Japanese SNES covers for Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind and invited readers to vote.

The weekly Box Art Brawl presented the North American, European and Japanese SNES box arts for Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind and invited readers to vote on their favorite design.

The feature displayed the three region-specific covers side by side and highlighted differences in layout, color and logo placement.

The North American cover uses a landscape orientation with a black SNES border and a large central illustration of Bubsy in an expressive pose. The dark frame follows the common U.S. SNES packaging style and makes the character artwork stand out.

Europe’s version keeps the same central illustration but uses a slightly smaller, realigned logo and a light blue border that complements the main artwork.

Japan’s box art adopts a portrait orientation with a plain white background and a red logo at the top. The character pose on the Japanese cover is less exaggerated than on the Western releases.

The feature noted the three covers are similar enough to compare while offering distinct regional styling and asked readers to choose whether the North American framing, the European presentation or the Japanese layout leaves the most lasting impression.

Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind was the series’ original SNES entry, released in the early 1990s. The feature referenced an upcoming Bubsy 4D release for modern Nintendo platforms and stated the Box Art Brawl series will continue to poll readers on classic game packaging.
