Bungie to End Destiny 2 Updates After Summer Patch

Bungie announced on its official blog this week that the upcoming summer update for Destiny 2 will be the game’s final update, ending more than a decade of expansions, seasonal content and live patches for the franchise. The company did not outline plans for a successor title in the post.

Players and commentators responded on social platforms and community forums with mixed reactions. Some described sadness while others described relief. Many players pointed to the 2024 expansion The Final Shape as a natural endpoint for the series.
