Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on Switch 2 Oct. 23, 2026
Activision announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will launch Oct. 23, 2026, and will be available day one on Nintendo Switch 2; Infinity Ward leads development with Digital Legends on Switch 2.
Activision confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will release on Oct. 23, 2026, and will be available on Nintendo Switch 2 at launch alongside other platforms.
The single-player campaign follows Private Park, a young South Korean soldier thrust into combat after a surprise full-scale invasion by North Korea. The campaign places players in close-quarters firefights as Park and his unit move through collapsing cities and counteroffensives. Activision published a set of campaign screenshots that do not represent the Switch 2 build.
Infinity Ward is the lead developer on Modern Warfare 4. Digital Legends is responsible for the Switch 2 version. Activision said pre-order information will go live sometime this summer.
The publisher has not provided technical details for the Switch 2 release, including resolution, frame rate, or whether content will differ from other platforms. Activision has also not released specifics about multiplayer modes, cross-play, or system requirements for non-Nintendo platforms.
This is the first mainline Call of Duty title to ship on a Nintendo platform in more than a decade. At the end of 2022, Microsoft committed to a 10-year agreement to bring Call of Duty games to Nintendo hardware as part of the acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
More information about pre-orders, platform-specific features, and technical specifications is expected from Activision in the coming months ahead of the Oct. 23 launch.
