Capcom may reveal Code Veronica remake at Summer Game Fest

Residence of Evil, a fan channel focused on the Resident Evil series, posted that it expects Capcom to reveal a remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica at Summer Game Fest in June. Capcom has not confirmed the claim.

Summer Game Fest is scheduled for June and will include publisher presentations and game reveals.

Insider Dusk Golem has repeatedly named Code Veronica as the next title for remake treatment and has identified Kazunori Kadoi and Yasuhiro Anpo as potential directors; Kadoi and Anpo led the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes.

Leaker NateTheHate has indicated the project is in development with a target around 2027. Dusk Golem has outlined a timeline that places an announcement next year and a 2027 release, followed by a Resident Evil Zero remake in 2028. Capcom has not provided a public roadmap that matches these timelines.

Capcom previously released modern remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 built on updated engines and new design approaches; those projects involved Kadoi and Anpo in leadership roles.

Other reports refer to a title called Resident Evil Requiem expected early next year. Capcom’s official schedule offers limited public detail.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica first appeared in 2000 on the Dreamcast and was later reissued as Code: Veronica X. Discussion of a remake has circulated among fans for several years as the publisher has revisited earlier series entries.

Until Capcom issues a formal announcement, the claim of a Summer Game Fest reveal, the composition of the development team and any release timing remain unconfirmed.
