Capcom releases free ‘Leon Must Die Forever’ PS5 mode
Capcom released a free Leon Must Die Forever mode for Resident Evil Requiem on PS5, unlocked after beating the campaign. It adds tougher enemies, five difficulty ranks, enhancer abilities and timed runs.
Capcom released a free PlayStation 5 update that adds a new mode, Leon Must Die Forever, to Resident Evil Requiem. The update arrived after a prior leak and the mode unlocks once players complete the game’s main campaign.
Capcom described the mode as a series of timed runs through areas visited in the campaign, with players racing to defeat the final boss while facing stronger enemy variants and five rising difficulty ranks.
During runs, defeating enemies grants “enhancer abilities” that apply only in the minigame. Those abilities change from run to run to vary each attempt and are not available in the main campaign.
The update includes bug fixes across all platforms and is available immediately on PlayStation 5.
Capcom also announced related retail items. Leon Must Die Forever apparel, including T‑shirts, long‑sleeve shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies, is available on Amazon. The first Resident Evil amiibo figures, featuring Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy from Resident Evil Requiem, are scheduled for release on July 30.
Resident Evil Requiem launched earlier this year. Capcom has positioned the title as one of its contenders for 2026 Game of the Year. The new mode provides a focused, high-difficulty option that emphasizes speed, enemy management and the strategic use of temporary abilities unlocked during each run.
