Capcom to Reveal Onimusha, Wilds Expansion, Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC

Capcom is expected to announce three pieces of content later this year: Onimusha: Way of the Sword, an expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds, and downloadable content for Dragon’s Dogma 2. These announcements could appear during PlayStation’s State of Play on June 2 or Summer Game Fest on June 5, though Capcom has not confirmed its plans.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword was revealed previously with updated visuals and gameplay. No release date has been set. An expanded presentation could provide a launch window and feature details.

Capcom plans a summer unveiling for an expansion to Monster Hunter Wilds. The company has indicated additional content for Wilds after a strong opening that did not meet its internal sales targets.

Development teams have issued hints that post-launch content for Dragon’s Dogma 2 is in progress. Those hints suggest Capcom may detail downloadable content and other updates this year.

Capcom released Resident Evil Requiem, Monster Hunter Stories 3 and Pragmata earlier this year. The company has confirmed at least one additional piece of downloadable content for Resident Evil Requiem. Street Fighter 6 is scheduled to continue with a fourth season of content; there are unverified reports that Tifa from Final Fantasy 7 might appear as a guest fighter in that season, but Capcom has not confirmed this.

The timing of the two June events gives publishers large broadcast audiences for announcements. Capcom could distribute reveals across both shows or present its own showcase. If Capcom uses one of these events, it may provide release dates, pricing and platform details.
