Capcom plans more Pragmata after million-copy launch - ps5.news

Capcom USA COO Rob Dyer says Capcom will develop more Pragmata entries after the new IP sold more than 1 million copies in its first two days.

Capcom intends to expand the Pragmata franchise after the new game sold more than 1 million copies within its first two days, Rob Dyer, Capcom USA’s chief operating officer, told a recent panel.

Dyer said Capcom conducted focus tests, surveys and public demos in the United States during development to adjust design and presentation for Western players. He noted the title reached seven-figure sales before the Switch 2 version launched in Japan.

Dyer described the commercial result as “worth the effort” and said the performance has given the company confidence to continue building the property. He indicated Capcom could pursue sequels, spin-offs or other projects set in the same setting, but did not provide a release timetable.

“We’re to a point now where we’ve got another IP that Capcom-and god bless them, has an arsenal-that we can continue to go down,” Dyer said during the panel.

Capcom is known for long-running series including Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Mega Man and Devil May Cry. Company leadership has previously said player feedback and regional testing are factors in shaping new releases.

No follow-up Pragmata titles have been officially confirmed. Dyer framed the game’s initial sales as a business case for further investment, while leaving details about scope, format and schedule unspecified.
