Capcom Plans Sequels, Remakes and New Games for Top Franchises
Capcom will expand brands such as Mega Man, Devil May Cry and Onimusha with sequels, remakes, ports and new original IP, the company outlined in slides from its latest financial report.
Capcom’s latest financial presentation lays out plans to grow its leading franchises through sequels, remakes, ports and new original titles. The slides identify specific series the company intends to prioritize, including Mega Man, Devil May Cry and Onimusha.
The materials highlight Mega Man Dual Override, scheduled for release next year, and mention Monster Hunter alongside characters such as Ryu and Leon. The presentation describes IP expansion and development as a core element of Capcom’s business model and lists the release types the company will use to expand its portfolio.
To illustrate the approach, the slides cite recent releases and updates. This year Capcom released Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, Resident Evil Requiem and Mega Man Star Force: Legacy Collection, and published Pragmata earlier in the year. Pragmata sold more than two million copies worldwide within 16 days of release, and the latest Resident Evil title received a free update last week.
The presentation presents a planned mix of sequels, remakes, ports and new IP across multiple platforms and markets. Those plans were shown alongside sales figures and a roadmap in the company’s financial materials.
The financial report frames these activities as the company’s strategy to manage and expand its portfolio of characters and series going forward.
