Cat in the Hat party game coming to PS5 and PS4 Oct. 30

Outright Games will release a Cat in the Hat party game for up to four players on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on Oct. 30. The release features a collection of short competitive minigames and a hide-and-seek chase mode in which players try to find the Cat in the Hat.

The title adapts Dr. Seuss’ classic children’s book into a console party game that emphasizes standalone minigames rather than a board-game structure. The announcement describes two main modes: a minigame mode made up of bite-sized challenges and a fast-paced chase mode centered on locating the Cat in the Hat.

Local multiplayer supports up to four players on PS5 and PS4. The press materials did not include pricing information or a full list of minigames. Details about online play and additional features were not provided.

Visuals shown in the trailer use an illustrated style that echoes the book, with hand-drawn raindrop effects and whimsical character designs.
