Tanki Online (2009) hits PS4 Store, playable on PS5

Tanki Online, a free-to-play multiplayer tank combat game first released as a browser title in June 2009, was added to the PlayStation Store in 2026 as a PS4 download and is playable on PS5 through backward compatibility. The port is free to download and does not require a PlayStation Plus subscription to try.

The PlayStation Store listing shows a positive early rating. PlayStation Plus members can claim an exclusive virtual currency reward; other add-ons and in-game purchases require payment.

The game places players in arena-based vehicular combat with instant respawns and online matches against other players. The official PlayStation Store description reads:

Throw yourself into furious tank battles shoulder to shoulder with other real players and master your skills — destroy enemy tanks, customize your futuristic armored vehicle, and compete with tankers from all over the world. Instant respawns, millions of players around the globe, loads of arenas, non-stop action, and adrenaline await you in Tanki Online.

The PS4 port includes 42 trophies, including a Platinum trophy. Many trophies require extended playtime to unlock. The game’s monetization uses paid add-ons and virtual currency for customization and progression.
