CD Projekt Red to Reveal Witcher 3 Expansion at Gamescom 2026

CD Projekt Red will present The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne. The studio confirmed the expansion will be on display in its developer area during the trade show, which runs August 26–30, 2026. The studio has set a 2027 release window for the DLC.

The developer’s statement specifies that the expansion will appear at its booth in the exhibition hall. The Gamescom presentation will mark the first major public showing of Songs of the Past since the studio first announced the project.

The Witcher 3 launched in 2015 and has received two major expansions and multiple updates since release. A Complete Edition for PlayStation 5 arrived in 2022, bringing gameplay and technical improvements. Songs of the Past is the next paid expansion listed for the game.

Some fans have speculated that the new expansion could connect narrative elements to the studio’s next mainline Witcher title. CD Projekt Red has not released details about story links, new gameplay systems, supported platforms or a specific release date within the 2027 window.

Attendees at Gamescom can visit the developer area to view materials the studio places on display. CD Projekt Red is expected to publish additional information about the expansion and release timing from its Gamescom presence during the event.
