Cookie Cutter Returns to PS Store; PS5 Copies Get Overkill
PS5 adventure Cookie Cutter returned to the PlayStation Store after an April delisting during a dispute with publisher Rogue Games; PS5 copies will upgrade to the Overkill Edition after Summer 2026.
Subcult Joint has restored Cookie Cutter to the PlayStation Store after the title was removed from multiple platforms in April 2026 during a dispute with publisher Rogue Games. The game is listed on the PS Store at $19.99.
The title was delisted while Subcult Joint and Rogue Games contested control of the game’s intellectual property. Subcult Joint has taken over publishing duties and is now listed as the publisher on the PlayStation listing.
A central issue in the dispute was a 90% discount Rogue Games applied to Cookie Cutter. Subcult Joint objected to that price reduction and later set the current PlayStation Store price.
The developer announced that every PS5 copy purchased will automatically upgrade to the Overkill Edition after Summer 2026 at no additional cost to owners. The Overkill Edition is already available on PC and includes extra content and technical improvements.
Subcult Joint described the game’s return as “a great opportunity to support the developers directly.” The studio noted the PS5 upgrade will bring “additional content and improvements” consistent with the PC Overkill Edition but has not published a full list of PS5 changes.
Cookie Cutter launched in 2023 as an indie adventure on PS5 and other platforms. On the PlayStation Store the game holds a 4.31 out of 5 stars average from 647 verified reviews. The April delisting removed new purchase options for several weeks; with Subcult Joint now publishing, the game is again available to buy on PS5 and will receive the advertised Overkill updates after the summer timeframe.
